Together with our partners, we’ve set out to help families recover, earn and live together in peace.
Helping conflict-affected Mafa recover
Our partner Ekklesiyar Yan'uwa a Nigeria (EYN) helped Mafa rebuild after conflict. Through restoring access to clean water, supporting child and maternal nutrition, livelihoods were strengthened.
- 97.8% rated water supply as ‘very reliable'
- 85.6% said feeding improved for women and children
- 96% said that household decisions are more inclusive.

Bringing climate-smart training to local farmers
Initiatives for Community Action, Resilience & Empowerment (ICARE) trained young farmers in the latest climate-smart practices. Alongside this, the initiative also ensured locals were market-ready by establishing links across four Kano local government areas.
82.4% reported an increase in crop yields
89.4% of farmers applied learned climate-smart practices
91.8% of farmers reported feeling very confident when using new methods.

Supporting a stronger voice for women
As well as helping women acquire business skills and climate-smart practices, Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) delivered impactful social change. Women reported having more say in decisions that shape their livelihood.
98.8% of women in Plateau State have a stronger role in livelihood decisions

71.3% joined a savings or cooperative group.

Living together in peace
Poverty and conflict often reinforce one another. To help break this cycle, the Peacebuilding & Resilience Initiative (PRiN) programme combined youth livelihoods with intergroup peacebuilding in a fragile part of Plateau State.
72.5% of locals said relations between groups improved
66.3% reported a higher income
100% of respondents said that the society was much better at coping with shocks.

Advocacy for economic justice
Two projects championed fairer taxes and clearer government spending. Fostering Inclusive Economic Just Recoveries (FIEJR) helped secure real institutional reform, while FORGE built the awareness and evidence that future reform will need.
5 states adopted gender-responsive grievance redress frameworks
48 shops and drainage delivered via tax-for-service in Kano
3 citizen-driven reforms entered draft Jigawa tax laws.
