At the recent Methodist Conference on Tuesday 2 July, the Methodist Church in Britain and Christian Aid reaffirmed their dedication to tackling global injustice and poverty together. This joint commitment highlights our shared mission to promote justice, peace and the inherent dignity of every person.
The world faces huge challenges, with the climate crisis and conflict hitting the poorest and most vulnerable people hardest. The Methodist Church in Britain is one of our most long-standing and valued partners. I am delighted that we will continue to strengthen our collaboration, as we meet these challenges. I look forward to seeing the benefits of our collaboration, building on our shared values of love, equality, dignity, and justice.
This Harvest, your church can help farmers facing climate chaos to build a brighter, more resilient future.
A strong partnership rooted in faith and action
The Methodist Church, the fourth largest Christian denomination in Britain, has been a cornerstone partner of Christian Aid since its inception. This relationship is grounded in our mutual commitment to justice and compassion.
Every year, approximately 900 Methodist churches generously support Christian Aid's initiatives. Since 2018, these churches have raised an impressive £1.88 million, aiding our local partners in responding to humanitarian crises worldwide.

Strengthening ties for greater impact
Our renewed agreement with the Methodist Church in Britain includes plans to explore collaborative efforts in countries where both Christian Aid and the Methodist Church have a presence. This strategic cooperation aims to maximise our impact on the ground.
We are also excited to announce that the next President of the Methodist Conference will visit India to witness firsthand the transformative work we have done. This visit builds on previous initiatives in regions like Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory, further solidifying our partnership.
Partnership, walking together, accompaniment, and sharing collaboratively with others for the benefit of the most vulnerable are all Kingdom values. I look forward to seeing this renewed commitment between the Methodist Church and Christian Aid result in bearing fruit in change and transformation for those who need it most.
