As we fast, lets raise our voice

Dear XXX MP 

I write to you as your constituent with concern for the thousands starving in Gaza.

I have answered a call from The Very Revd Canon Richard Sewell, Dean of St George's College in Jerusalem, to join the Fast for Gaza.

The fast seeks to bear witness to the daily horrors in Gaza and serves as a prayer that our leaders act now to stop the suffering. 

Palestinians are now burying their children who are dying from hunger. 

The UK government is right to condemn Israel’s current actions in Gaza and suspend trade negotiations with Israel. Yet this is far too little, far too late. 

As the Very Revd Canon Richard Sewell says “It’s time for action, not talking and there’s no time to lose. Those in our world who have the power to stop this famine and end the conflict must do it now."

The UK must step up to help stem the suffering, challenge Israeli impunity and support a just peace for Palestinians and Israelis.  

I ask you to call on Foreign Secretary and Business Secretary to: 

• Ban all UK arms sales to Israel.
• Suspend the existing UK-Israel Trade Agreement.
• Ban UK trade with Israeli settlements.
• Push to end the aid blockade of Gaza.
