It’s time for action, not talking and there’s no time to lose. Those in our world who have the power to stop this famine must do it now. ‘The suffering people of Gaza don’t need a “limited amount of food”, they need a just and lasting peace so they can rebuild their lives.

- Very Revd Canon Richard Sewell, Dean of St George’s College, in Jerusalem.

What is Fast for Gaza?

Fast for Gaza is a simple but powerful global campaign. We’re going hungry in solidarity with the thousands of innocent civilians in Gaza at risk of dying from starvation.

We're asking you to join us — in whatever way you can — every Wednesday, starting 21 May.

How to take part

  • Fast for 24 hours or a select period of time
  • Share what you're doing and why by using #FastForGaza

  • Encourage others to get involved

Every act of solidarity counts.

By letting us know you're fasting we can show the UK Government the strength of conviction amongst Christians in the UK.

Pray for a just peace

God, hear our prayers for peace in the Middle East.
May all people in the region be protected, safe from harm.
We pray that this crisis will end now, with no further loss of life.
God, may the injured and distressed know your healing presence.
May the powerful and the decision-makers follow the paths of justice, mercy and peace.
We pray for recognition of the dignity and value of every life.
May the clamour of violence cease,
Replaced by the beating of swords into ploughshares.
God, in your name,

Tell your MP you're fasting for Gaza

Three children climbing a ladder in a partially destroyed house in Gaza

Christian Aid believes the UK Government is failing to meet its obligation towards Palestinians in Gaza. After more than 18 months of Israeli military bombardment, mass displacement, at least 50,000 people killed and around three quarters of homes and other buildings destroyed, Palestinians are now burying their children who are dying from hunger.
