By kind permission of The Dean & Chapter of Westminster, you're invited to attend A Service of Thanksgiving and Reflection to mark the 80th Anniversary of Christian Aid​.

This service offers an opportunity to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve taken together—working closely with our global partners, standing with communities in crisis. In these 80 years, we've witnessed the unstoppable power of hope in action.​

Through moments of prayer and music, we'll reflect on the profound impact of our collective efforts. We'll honour the unwavering spirit that continues to fuel our work.​

If you’re no longer able to attend, let us know by emailing hello@christian-aid.org. This will allow us to offer your ticket to someone else who would love to join us. 

Key information

Arrival on the day 

  • Doors will open from 10:30am, with all guests to be seated by 11:30. Service starts at 12:00. 
  • Guests are invited to enter via the Great West Door located on Broad Sanctuary. 
  • As part of the security measures at Westminster Abbey, you may be asked to produce a photo ID. Please ensure you bring one with you. 
  • Food and drink are not permitted in the venue. 
  • The nearest tube station is Westminster (5 min walk away). Plan your journey on the TfL website.

Bringing a guest

If you wish to bring a guest, your guest must register separately. Additionally, both the attendee and their guest should arrive together, as seating will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Accessibility at Westminster Abbey 

  • There is step free access to the Great West Door.  
  • Guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs are welcome. 
  • The Abbey is equipped with a hearing loop system that covers the whole of the Abbey main building. 
  • British sign language will be available.

Photography and videography notice

Please note that no personal photography or videography is permitted during the service. An official photographer and videographer will be capturing moments throughout the event. Selected images and footage may be published online after the service.

If you prefer not to appear in any photos or video, please collect a blue lanyard upon entry to the Abbey. Wearing this will ensure you are easily identifiable and can be excluded from published material.
