Changemakers Conference 2027

Hosts-of-the-day Ian Hind (Volunteering Advisor) and Lisa Britto (Church Engagement and Fundraising Advisor), guided us through the conference with warmth and energy, keeping things moving from the very first moment to the final close.

We began with a grounding moment led by Dr Frances Clemson, Faith Communications Advisor. It was a quietly powerful way to set the tone for the day.

Chine McDonald, Director of Theos Think Tank and Christian Aid Trustee, welcomed everyone to Changemakers 2026 and set the vision for the day - reminding us why the work we do together matters, and the difference we can make with those seven days.

Before looking forward, we took a moment to look back. In 2025, you raised £4.5 million during Christian Aid Week!

Janet Ngombalu Christian Aid Kenya, and Jane Wathome from Christian Aid Partner - Beacon of Hope, sharing how communities in Kenya are driving change through partnership, resilience and hope. 

Rob Ross (Community Fundraising Advisor) and Nicole Myall (Flagship Appeal Officer), walked us through what's new for 2026 - including updated envelopes, leaflets and posters. 

Michael Mosselmans, Head of Humanitarian at Christian Aid, gave an overview of our humanitarian work over the past year. He covered Christian Aid's global footprint, our work with partners on the ground and our approach to emergency response worldwide. 

After their morning session, Jane and Janet stayed on for a deeper conversation with supporters. It was a rare chance to ask questions directly to the people at the heart of our work in Kenya, and a reminder of why hearing directly from the people we work alongside matters so much.
