Global Neighbours Cymru

Welcome to Global Neighbours Cymru, our exciting accreditation scheme for schools.

In partnership with Church in Wales Education, we want to encourage deeper understanding of global injustice and empower learners in schools throughout Wales to tackle this and become ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world.

Congratulations to Ysgol Pant Pastynog on receiving their bronze award in recognition of all they do in playing their part of being ethical and informed citizens of Wales and the world.

They have been recognised as champions at promoting global learning, combining knowledge, empathy, and meaningful action. We were glad to be able to present them with a certificate at a special assembly. Llongyfarchiadau mawr!

The First Global Neighbours Cymru Accreditation

We're so excited to have our first Global Neighbours Cymru accredited school!

Wick and Marcross CiW Primary School received their bronze award in recognition of all they do in challenging global injustice.

They've shown how global citizenship can be placed at the heart of a small, rural school, transforming it to a beacon of faith, celebration and action. We were glad to be able to celebrate with them and present them with a certificate at a special assembly before the end of term.

St Andrews Major win a Power of Hope Award

We were so thrilled to see St Andrew's Major Church in Wales Primary School receive a Power of Hope Award at a special ceremony following Christian Aid's 80th anniversary service at Westminster Abbey on 12 June.

Pupils from the school have been using their artistic skills to raise awareness of the climate crisis, creating powerful artwork for display at their school, the Senedd and the Houses of Parliament.
The award was presented to Morgan and Tomas, two of the school’s young tour guides who presented the exhibition of artwork in Cardiff and London.

Launch of 'Ffrindiau Byd-eang'

At the Eisteddfod in Margam Park we launched our new song 'Ffrindiau Byd-eang (Helo, helo, sut wyt ti?) with Martyn Geraint and learners from Mynydd Cynffig School and Ysgol Dewi Sant, Llantwit Major.

The official launch was in the Adlen tent with the full choir then we had two other performances on the field with a smaller group singing with Martyn. What a brilliant day!

We're looking forwards to hearing the catchy tune being sung all around Wales!
A teaching pack to go with the song and video will be available soon...
